2749540 S.A.C. CONRAD NORMAN.H.(Ginger), is hoping to contact any former members of the 615 Signals Unit. During my service period it was stationed in Germany. Initially at Luneberg, moving to Butzweilerhof, Adenau,and Gutersloh, and for some of us, a brief period to Shropshire.
The dates being from July1955 to February 1957.
We were lucky in our 6 weeks at Adenau, as it coincided with the 1956 German F1 Grand Prix, which was held at the Nurburg Ring surrounding the campsite. Fangio won and Moss was second. Memories memories!!

RADAR OPERATERS: I work for Chief Environmental Safety Officer for the RAF at RAF Innsworth as a Health and Safety Office and have recently been given the task of researching some old files for an airman who completed his National Service at RAF Hednesford between June 1954 and April 1956. MRS LISA O\'CONNOR: Does anyone remember my father, RAYMOND THOMAS PRESSNELL, in ADEN around 1952-1954? He was on National Service with the RAF. He was a Small Arms Instructor. He'd been in the ATC at Dover Grammar School and got through Advanced Pilot training but didn't go for a Commission!
He was involved in the radio station you guys ran and was also into boxing out there. He was called home suddenly aged 18 as his mother was gravely ill with cancer. KEN TUDDENHAM: Hello all, I got my letter telling me to report to RAF Cardington in May 1955 from there I went to RAF Hednesford for a 9 week stay and then to RAF Hereford for my training as a storeman (mech) and while I was there I signed on for for a total of 12 years. I was posted to the Suez Canal zone at RAF Fayid where I did not do any stores work at all but passed my airforce driving test for 3 tonners. I then got posted to RAF Khormaksar where I worked in the MT pool at x-group where we received and depatched all types of vehicles. During 1956 I picked up a kidney complaint and did not get over it and was discharged on medical grounds.

I would like to make contact with these two ex RAF pals who, together with myself, were stationed at RAF BENSON in 1947.
After returning to civilian life in 1949 DAVE NAIRN resumed his career as a
Variety Artiste. He married Marjorie Starkey at Burnley, Lancs, on the 24th
March 1951. Marjorie was also a Variety Artiste, and the last time I saw them
was at the Babbacombe Theatre in South Devon during the 1950's where they
appeared on stage as a dance duo.
Bill Todd was, I understand, Station Master at Glasgow Railway Staion
sometime after returning to civilian life.

My dad was stationend at RAF Honiley in those days and when I had returned from Gloucester station, having delivered 'Pool Flight' ,it only cost me the 'furlough' return price of a rail ticket to Berkswell and Balsall Common Railway station where my dad had driven from RAF Honiley to collect me!
I was always grateful for that legitimate 'perk' Dennis!

At the time National Service was a bind but with the passing of the years bad memories have faded and in many respects we had a laugh and made the best of it.
