Saturday 5th July - Chatham Veterans Day.

This special day will feature a commemorative Church Service at 11am,
followed at 12 noon by a Veterans Parade led by the Band of Her
Majesty's Royal Marines Portsmouth and a Veterans Re-union Hall. There
will also be displays presented by the Regular, Reserve and Cadet
branches of the Armed Forces and Ex-Services Charities, as well as all
the award-winning attractions of The Historic Dockyard itself. The day
will also give you the opportunity to visit the National Destroyer
Memorial and the monument that was unveiled by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh
in November 2007.
The Band of her Majesty's Royal Marines will play at a separately
ticketed Beating Retreat and Ceremonial Sunset in the early evening.

Saturday 6th September * Canterbury Parade and Cathedral Service of
Thanksgiving.


This is the Lord-Lieutenant's own event and will involve an
opportunity to march past a saluting base or spectate in Canterbury City
Centre, to attend a Cathedral Service of Thanksgiving, followed by a
lunch time Reception. Capacity for the lunch time reception will be
limited and therefore priority for this will be for former Territorials
and other Volunteer Reservists, and possibly one guest.
For the Saturday 6th September event, we will send you a formal
invitation in mid-summer.

Sunday - September 21st 2008.
Westminster Abbey: Battle of Britain Service.

Tickets are required to attend this event - they are free and are available on a first come first serve basis from Mr Honey. (Applications in writing please to Mr Honey and you must give the Christian names of those for whom you are applying - BUT PLEASE if applying - only do so if you can guarantee attending in person and be at the Abbey for 10.00 hrs.
NOTE also - for security reasons Passport or photographic Driving Licence identification is required at the Abbey.).

Calling all ex RAF "erks" - ALL ex National Servicemen and Regulars especially ex WAAF and ex WRAF who served from 1939 to the 60s.
The 2009 NS(RAF)A re union and Parade will take place at the RAF Musem Cosford on Sunday June 28th.(National Service Day).

Organised by the National Service (RAF) Association, with the support of the RAF Museum, DCAE Cosford and Shropshire / Staffs ATC.

The Reviewing Officer will be: to be announced.

A full parade (Taken by ex Drill Instructors), Service of remembrance and march past, with an RAF Band will take place at 11.00hrs, including input by aircraft from the BBMF and we hope the newly completed Vulcan (all aircraft subject to weather and availability).
30 plus stands and meeting points from all ex Service Agencies and many RAF Associations and Units plus the Museum shop..
Full Catering / Medical facilities etc on site in Hangar 1.
This is a free day of pure RAF nostalgia - not to be missed.
Anyone intending to come along should try to be on site by 09.30 hrs.
